These are the face chart ideas I came up with but decided not to use these for my final design for a number of reasons which I shall explain... First of all the first face chart I thought was pretty plain, as the image was of a young Miss Havisham just hours after she had been left at the alter. Therefore the make up was pretty basic and light as it needed to be a true likeness to Victorian style make up and as disscussed earlier in this blog the Victorians were not great fans of using cosmetics as it was deemed trashy and associated with prostitution. Another reason why I decided against this design was it was very similar to my chosen final design of Estella who again would have worn typical, very light make up if any at all. If I had used this face chart for my assessment the products I wold have used would have been...
- Kryolan foundation palette (mixture)
- Illamasqua loose powder to set the foundation
- Kryolan shading and highlighting palette in glamour tan and brozing sun (very lightly) for contouring and blush mauve for a subtle glow on cheeks
- A single layer of black foundation to darken the lashes slightly but still keeping the looking natural.
- Kryolan lip palette in shade LC149.
This Following idea o Miss Havisham make up was not chosen for my final look due to the fact that I wanted to experiment further with the aging make up as I wanted my Miss Havisham too look as old as possible and slightly witchy. Although I could have applied aging make up with the Burn effect I think the brightness and gore of the burns would have stolen the attention and therefore would have been pretty pointless, not only this but it would have wasted time during the assessment. Also another factor to consider when using this technique (gelatine) is that it would have been very difficult to recreate accurately for my second assessment.
If I had decided to use this face chart the products I would have used would have been...
- Kryolan foundation palette (mixture)
- Gelatine
- Illamasqua loose powder
- Kryolan Supra Colour palette (mixture)
- Kryolan Lip colour palette (mixture)
- Kryolan Eyeshadow palette in Anis and black Pepper
