This is my final design for my Miss Havisham make up. I chose this design over my other attempts (which I will be uploading soon in another post) to use in my timed assessment because I think it will be the easiest of my designs to recreate during a second asseascent where we will be judged on our continuity. The design I have crated is a theatrial look for Miss Havisham using ageing techniques using kryolan supracolour grease based make up. The picture that has inspired my look is the image of Joan Hickson from the 1981 television drama series.
I will be using supracolour to illustrate wrinkles, define bags and create shadows therefore giving the face a sunken in and skeleton like appearance what I like about the image of Jon Hickson is that she is depicted as being much older than in other interpretations of the character which have been created for t.v or film and I wanted my design to have an elderly appearance as I think it would really test my technical ability to produce this look on a model firstly in time to pass the assessment and secondly to recreate it again at a later date keeping it as accurate as possible to the version I was assessed on initially.
My partner for the assessments is Phoebe. As Phoebe has a warm tanned colour skin I will be using a mix ture of my Kryolan foundation to find a shade as close as possible tor her natural skin colour and then applying wribales in a darker greys brown shade. The reason I will not be applying a pale base as in previous designs is because I want the make up to look as natural as possible (obviously from a distance as the design is intended for theatrical purposes).
Checks which are necessary to be carried out in the consultation.
Q) Is the client sensitive or allergic to any products?
A) No my client is not.
Q) Are any contra indications present?
Is the skin okay to apply make up to? No broken skin cuts or abrasions?
A) My client had none of the above.
