Killing boredom by practising make up trying to achieve a Victorian style Porcelain doll look as I think they are slightly creepy and Dolls being sort of horror related for instance in the movie Chuckie. The pictures on my right I did over last summer and the left one I created tonight although I do prefer the first attempt!!
Porcelain or "Bisque" dolls as they were also known were constructed using a smooth clay called slip which when dry would produce a smooth matte finish often confused with China which would have been glazed to create a shiny smooth finish.

Here are some examples of Victorian Porcelain Dolls with their pale complexions and darker make up. The dolls all have very round childlike or infant like faces with pouting red lips and are often dressed in christening style lace gowns or elaborate Victoirian style garments similar to that of which would have been worn by children of wealthy Victorian families.
